A Step Toward Change

Updated: Aug 4

Follow your path
Follow your path

Today, during my walk with the dog, my thoughts turned to a recent conversation that lingered. It began with a client wanting to move on from his current position.

He felt stuck, his talents overlooked in a role that no longer fit. The pressure was mounting, and it struck me how we’re not meant to be forced into rigid molds—we’re unique beings with gifts yearning to shine. I urged him to see this within himself first; that’s the toughest step. Others, like new opportunities or support, would follow. His story reflected a truth: when our potential goes unseen, we stall, mirroring our inner struggle to those around us.

I suggested exploring fresh paths, trusting his instincts, and finding a space where his skills could flourish. Outgrowing a role isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s courage to seek what fits. This walk, with the dog padding alongside, became a quiet moment to ponder that.

How often do we linger in roles that dim our potential? What can we do to support each other in taking that first bold step? How do we shape workplaces that celebrate our individuality?
